Biometric voter registration for voters without a fixed address.
Upvote - Biometric Scanner for Voter Registration
In the UK, 1 in 200 people are homeless, with the total number in excess of 320 000. Of those, only 2% are registered to vote. The existing process for registering to vote for individuals without a fixed address is complex and requires access to systems that those individuals are unlikely to have. Upvote aims to bridge this gap by allowing charities and other organisations to register individuals to the electoral register using a new form of identification, biometrics.
Sam Walker
I am a dedicated and hard working designer who's work focusses on user centred design.
My design thinking revolves around fully understanding the people that are at the centre of our solutions. From conception, testing, iterations and finally implementation; the user is always at the centre of my work. I believe that only with a full and complete understanding of your users, are you able to produce a solution that will satisfy both user and business requirements successfully. The range of experience that I have gained over my time at Loughborough was applied during my time as a UX designer with both Ticketmaster and IBM over my placement year. As I move forward I want to push myself further into the UX profession and develop my understanding of digital design and the role it will play in our futures.
