Product Design and Technology
Final year project
Emotive testing for creative teams.
Final FYDP concept Render of UME
UME, an emotive testing headset optimises EEG technology for the untrained individual. User testers and creative teams can easily gather valuable quantitative insights into consumer opinion and emotional response.
Functional electronic prototype of UME
Hacking existing EEG technology utilising Arduino and Processing3. This gave a low cost way to analyse ,manipulate and present data on the electrical activity of the brain. A live feed of brain activity could be interpreted showing basic mental patterns such as frustration, meditation and multisensory engagement.
Digital sketching development
Digital sketching was used to refine the final concept details.
Bespoke powertool Concept
A bespoke garden tool concept representative of work completed at BOSCH whilst on placement in Germany.
Footwear Design
Interaction prototype for FYDP
A modular prototype was developed, iterated and tested to refine interaction features, form and fit of the final product.
Power tool Concept
A power drill concept representative of work completed at BOSCH whilst on placement in Germany.

My final year project looks at enhancing the user testing process for creative teams within large organisations. By optimising EEG sensor technology through design, the often difficult task of gathering and understanding brain activity data can be performed by anyone. With clearer, more accessible insights into consumer response, more emotionally engaging and thereby successful products can be developed.
I am a versatile designer with strengths in visualisation, cad and concept development. My placement at Bosch in Stuttgart, Germany provided me with a professional visualisation skill set which has given me the opportunity to work on a variety of power tools and products which are now on the market.
