Industrial Design and Technology
Final year project
Improving the Quality and Accessibility of Swimming Analysis Tools to Swimmers
Vision Ray
Assembling the functional prototype of the Vision Ray swimming tracker and analysis device.
Vision Ray Flow Simulations
Performing flow simulations on the functional prototype to ensure the design is as hydrodynamic as possible.
Link IoT Medical Device
The Link medical device allows devices monitoring patients to be connected to a single IoT device. Hand modelled out of ProLab, and finished in satin white.
Link IoT Medical Device
Doctors and nurses can pair their smart phones or tablets to each Link device and monitor patients from anywhere in the hospital.
Link IoT Medical Device
On the Link device, the patients medical history and treatment record is stored for easy access.
Philips AquaTouch Razor
A Philips AquaTouch Razor in blue, surface modelled in SolidWorks using top-down-modelling. The hand grip has been modified to include a Voronoi pattern, generated in Grasshopper, to improve grip.
Philips AquaTouch Razor
The surface model of the razor is then knitted together to form a solid body, split and then shelled into individual parts. The final details of the razor are solid modelled in SolidWorks.
Philips AquaTouch Razor
All renders of the Philips AquaTouch razor were then completed in Keyshot.
Nicholas Pyne
My final year project was based around my own experience swimming a part of a swimming club. I wanted to allow coaches to better observe and analyse swimmers technique, form and performance and be able to easily provide both visual and statistical feedback to the swimmer.
During my time at Loughborough Design School I have worked on a number of projects including redesigning the Listerine bottle, 'Link' an IoT medical device, and designing a train for the RVID design competition 'Train Design, a Future Vision of Green Rail Transportation'. While on placement at GSM Automotive I worked on projects for Jaguar Land Rover (including projects for Jaguar Land Rover SVO), Audi, and Nissan.
