Final year project
Encouraging plant growth to create an alternative, natural air purification device.
Air purifier
A simple design which goes from heavy to light for visual tension.
Hidden mechanism
The insides are based on a dehumidifier. It looks after the plants and encourages photosynthesis resulting in cleaner air.
Metal Stand
Not only does the fan collect moisture from the air to feed the plants. It's located so that it also gets oxygen to the roots to keep them as healthy as possible.
Concrete pot
The product looks after itself which is perfect for the user.

The reason for my major project this year is because more than 80% of people living in urban areas are now exposed to air quality levels that exceed safety limits. This product provides a natural way to purifying the indoor air we breathe. It creates a clean/healthy home environment, therefore improving people's mental and physical health.
My major project has gone through the whole design process, from research to prototyping and evaluating. My placement year at Rutland Plastics helped me build on my knowledge and experience around designing for manufacture.
