With food waste becoming an ever growing problem, it is evident that greater steps need to be taken from excessive food waste to correctly disposing of food waste. It is evident from current research that the existing solutions are not effective with more and more food waste going to landfill each year. Core looks to improve this. Core is a food bin, combined with a design for service solution, that looks to shred food waste to improve the composting rate and reducing the volume of food waste in the home. This is then collected and replaced with compost, giving young professionals in major cities the capabilities to compost without the hassle.
