Facilitating Domestic Soap Making from Waste Cooking Oil
Fats, Oils and Grease (FOGs) are the largest contributor to the 6.7 millions drains blocked every year in the UK. 18 million litres of cooking oil is poured down the drain annually.
The artisan product aims to revive a traditional craft and method of soap making, by bringing a new style to an old technique.
A solution aimed at reducing complexity, whilst increasing safety and ease of the natural soap making experience.

Little infrastructure and information exists regarding the safe disposal of used cooking oils on a domestic scale. The majority of the UK population place it in the general waste bin or pour it down the drain. This presents the need for a new system that finds value in the by-product of cooking where it can be recycled and used as the raw material.
My aim is to work abroad once more, to immerse myself in different cultures, designing for different markets and needs, expanding my knowledge, skill set and thinking, whilst taking the opportunity to travel the world.
