Renee - Dehumidifier for small house

Renee - Dehumidifier for small house

Renee, meaning reborn in French, absorbs the moisture in air and reuses it to grow plants. Renee welcomes residents to the home with greenery provided by plants after a stressful day at work. Renee operates silently and creates a refreshing environment. Renee has a running cost significantly lower than an AC but achieves a comparable drying effect by absorbing air moisture in the humid environments of Hong Kong. Unlike large conventional dehumidifiers, Renee does not occupy floor space and operates silently and efficiently. Tailored to Hong Kong residents’ desire for nature and greenery, Renee provides a thriving space for culinary and decorative plants to improve the indoor scenery.

Early stroke can be detected by the walking habit. If the weight pressure is changed suddenly, it is considered to have stoke soon. The insole design is to detect this kind of symptom and to send data to the connected phone. The hexagon shape on insole detects and analysis the data input.

Poofy, turn your dog faeces to fertiliser

Poofy, turn your dog faeces to fertiliser

This project suggests turning pet urine and poop into fertiliser. House pets’ urine and faeces are usually being disposed off after being picked up or cleaned by pet owner. I suggest a product to make use of “pet waste” and convert it into nutrients for the plants as fertiliser at home conveniently.

Smoke inhalation is major source of casualty in fires in high-rise commercial buildings. Upon activation, this installation on every storey infuses water into masks, allowing occupants to protect themselves from the chemical and physical impacts of smoke and heat within the critical time frame for escape. Each device receives live information from a centralised system to display the safest escape route using image projection.

Giyeun’s focus as a designer is to optimise the user’s experiences with their interactions with design. Her desire to resolve and realise designs beyond the user’s imagination translates to creative and innovative solutions. She is a positive and open minded person with diverse cultural influences from years spent in Korea, China, Singapore and the UK.
