Integrated Blood Glucose Monitoring System For Young Adults
The compact design improves the usability of the product which is more appropriate for the lifestyle of young adults, self-medicating, within a public setting.
By sliding the lancet downwards, used needles are automatically moved into the waste compartment. This feature prevents users from touching contaminated materials, improving overall sanitation compared to conventional solutions.
A brief capture of glucose management is presented when docking the unit. This action helps to reinforce self-reflection and provides a visible location for the kit within the home.

The demands of emerging adulthood often mean that diabetes patients are unprepared for the task of effectively managing their blood glucose levels. A lack of discipline, and a general disconnect with existing medical devices identifies the need for a system that provides users with positive reinforcement and feedback.
