Securing power tools whilst stored in a work vehicle throughout day and night using a false floor system.

Enhancing Power Tool Security Inside Work Vehicles
The Hexagonal shape allows tessellation sheets to be formed, optimizing limited vehicle space. This further provides optimal fastening points when securing the unit away in a false floor.

"Structural Foam Moulding" is utilised to create a tough and durable unit. Thus, allowing for further tool protection upon removal of the unit from the false floor.

Wii Steering Wheel Re-design using Surface Modelling
A surface modelled re-design of the "Nintendo Wii Steering Wheel", focusing on enhancing user experience by producing unique custom manufactured grips, moulded around the user's hand.

The most innovative designs come as a result of the iterative process of user testing and are further enhanced by the ability to fine tune the product or system to suit the desired market. Design is an ongoing process which is constantly changing, it therefore requires designers to be adaptive to their ideas and to picture products as imperfect projects waiting to be altered. I am inspired not only by the process of design but also by the manufacturing process, more specifically, being able to see a product from ideation to a finalised product.
My placement at Woodpecker Joinery required me to design and manufacture cedar greenhouses and garden buildings. Whilst on site it became apparent that tradesmen often encounter power tool thefts from their work vehicles, more specifically 23% of tradespeople experience vehicle break ins each year. Using knowledge I have acquired throughout University alongside my first hand experience within the trade I was able to generate an initial concept which was further enhanced due to user feedback. I was able to produce a high quality CAD model due to the knowledge gained during a my final year CAMM module. This allocation of my skills created my solution to power tool theft.

August 2018 - September 2019
I was a design intern at Woodpecker Joinery (UK) Ltd; my role was to liaise with customers enabling me to then create bespoke cedar greenhouse or garden building designs to fit the customers needs. I spent a vast amount of time out on site, erecting the buildings alongside qualified joiners; this helped me to reconstruct and improve designs based on feedback from the customers and fitting teams.
