Hello! I'm Rachel, an Industrial design student by background with experience in Service and UX design. As a multi-disciplinary designer, I believe it is important to truly understand users and their problems so that we can create meaningful solutions; whether that be a product service or system. I take particular interest in social impact and am driven by a desire to improve lives through design.
With a background in Industrial Design and professional experience in Service and UX Design, I am both a hands-on practical person with the ability to think analytically and critically to ensure the solution is as meaningful as possible to users and key stakeholders. The combination of three design disciplines allows me consider different perspectives; from a detailed-product, to a wider service-systems view. In addition, a constant focus on the user’s needs ensures a hollistic and user-centric approach. Skills: - Adobe CC: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator - Physical & Digital Prototyping - Sketching and CAD - Workshop preparation and facilitation (Google Sprints) - Use of Service/ UX Design Tools (E.g. User Journey Map, Stakeholder Map, Service Blueprint) - UR: Preparation, execution, data processing - Application of Design methods and processes - Storytelling, Empathy and Understanding - Evidence and Context based design - Analytical and Evaluative mindset - Synthesis of information and raw data - Strategic and Systems-level thinking
