Managing the care and implications of living with ovarian cancer by enabling patients to monitor their health from home
A home-based blood count device for women with ovarian cancer
The device enables women with ovarian cancer to monitor their full blood count from the comfort of their own home during recovery from intensive treatment. The device helps to indicate how well they are recovering, whilst reducing the number of inconvenient hospital visits.
Intuitive interaction to perform a full blood count test
Digital imaging technology is used to determine full blood count from one drop of blood. Users collect the blood drop on a test strip which is inserted into the device to start the test. The results are sent to the healthcare provider to aid patient treatment decisions.
Managing their care through the app
The device works with an app that helps women to manage their care and support their emotional wellbeing by logging their full blood count results, visualising progression and finding the right support.
Ambio. An ear thermometer for Leukaemia patients.
Leukaemia patients are required to measure their temperature several times a day noting each reading, as a high fever can indicate potential infection requiring immediate medical attention. Ambio enables patients to manage their condition by automatically logging each reading and providing a personal data set. Using connectivity, the thermometer notifies the hospital when the patient has a high fever to prepare for the patient’s arrival.
Teplo. A transparent modular toaster designed to increase product longevity and improve usability.
Teplo uses modular design to split the toaster into three main parts, enabling easy replacements to increase longevity. Transparent glass heating panels allow users to observe the toasting stage effortlessly, without the need to lift the toast up and down. The adaptable design can be expanded to suit the number of users.
